PEMBELAJARAN KOLABORATIF DENGAN INDUSTRI UNTUK MENINGKATKAN KUALITAS KOMPETENSI MAHASISWA DI DAERAH TERPENCIL

Abstract


Vocational education of isolated area need to collaborate with industry to improve the quality of graduates in accordance with the competencies required in the workplace. This study aims to describe (1) planning, (2) implementation, (3) evaluation, (4) evaluation of results, and (5) obstacles in the implementation of the collaborative learning model of vocational education with industry. Data were extracted using quantitative and qualitative methods, interviewing techniques, questionnaires, documentation, and discussion groups centered. The results of this study show that: (1) planning collaborative learning need to be improved to obtain a clearer plan and perform right through the MOU clearly. (2) The implementation of collaborative learning need to be improved on (a) the organization strategy, (b) delivery strategy, and (c) management strategy, (3) Evaluation of the implementation of collaborative learning amongst educational institutions with the industry still needs to be improved by using the workings of PDCA. (4) Evaluation of the results of collaborative learning still needs to be improved in terms of (a) the effectiveness of learning, (b) the efficiency of learning, and (c) the attractiveness of learning. (5) Constraints in the implementation of collaborative learning model due to lack of attention to the purpose, syntax, environment, and learning management systems. Finally, several suggestions are vocational education and industries both of them need to make the MOU related to planning and to improve the quality of learning outcomes.
